Another great piece of printing equipment is the Lexmark S 1620 with S 1620 Printer Toner Cartridge. Lexmark has done it again with this printer as the company is known for manufacturing high quality printers.

One of the things I noticed about the Lexmark S 1620 is that it’s a rather cost effective printer when compared to other printers that have similar features. Features alone, however, shouldn’t be your reason to buy the printer because what really needs to be looked at is print quality. After all, you don’t want a printer with tons of features but mediocre print quality.

The Lexmark S 1620 is a much cheaper printer than the others in its category. The features, along with the printer’s capabilities, are far better than other printers within its price range. However we always advise that you look more at a printer’s print quality than stuff like its features.

The good thing about the 1620 is that it accommodates many sheets of paper, enough so that running to load the tray to finish a job it eliminated. If, however, you still need more space, you can always include the optional Lexmark paper tray. I have always felt frustrated when it was my turn to print and the printer ran out of paper, but it’s my guess that this should keep even the busiest office paper full for the whole day.

Lexmark printers have always had excellent print quality especially when it came to printing text. You wont come across any cutting edge features with this printer within its price range, but then again this printer itself does not have any cutting edge features. I also went ahead and gave the printer a spin using Lexmark S 1620 Toner to check out how well it did when I wanted to print out various types of documents that included both text as well as photos and illustrations.

We started by testing the printer with a number of text pages later followed by text and graphics mixed and after that just graphics to see how well it performed. Text reproduction of this printer was first-rate except for a few fonts that didn’t appear very good. In our graphics tests, colored graphics looked muddy while grayscale graphics looked fine. I wasn’t impressed with the time that the printer took to print out a picture. Some things looked perfect while others weren’t very impressive which led me to believe that it was a printer best suited for text and some low resolution graphics.

We wanted to also take the printer for a spin at its max resolutions using S 1620 Printer Cartridge. Before we could print the printer took awhile to warm up, but once it did the results were impressive and some of the text actually looked much better in higher resolutions. The printer didn’t slow down significantly, just a few seconds of a difference, however at times it printer as fast as when it was set at normal resolution.

The Lexmark S 1620 cartridge seems to have a very generous capacity of 1200 pages when it comes to print at high resolution. Normally we estimate that in a conventional office environment the cartridge should last fifteen days in smaller or home offices it should be thirty days. It also depends upon what print quality you put the printer at. Lexmark has always manufactured spacious toner cartridges and this one is no different.
