The Samsung ML 6060 Printer, used with ML 6060 Toner Cartridge was designed for home use and is an excellent updated version of the ML 6050 printer. It offers some excellent quality while being affordable. Many times buyers have shied away from laser printers for home use because of the price but this model offers affordability and quality in one package. It is very fast and con produce up to 12 page sin a minute at its fastest.

The 6060 connects using a USB connection but you can upgrade it to have a 10/100 BaseTX Ethernet adaptor though this feature is the only difference between the 6060 and the next model up. Cost wise you may be better buying the ML 6060N instead of upgrading the printer. The memory is rather low which can make printing large documents problematic though it can be expanded from 4 MB to 68 MB. It comes with a standard processor of 66 MHz RISC.

Text printing really stands out and large text documents are printed at the maximum speed of 12 ppm. All graphics and text are crisp and clear due to the 1200 x 1200 print resolution. An additional way to save on this printer is to operate it in toner saving mode. Toner can get quite pricey and you can save up to 40% when operating the printer in toner saving mode.

It can print on a few different types of media including plain paper, transparencies, and envelopes and can print a maximum size of legal or A4 paper. It is compatible with the following operating systems, Windows 3.x/95/98, Microsoft DOS, Mac and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. It cannot be connected to a network but uses a USB connection. The parts and services are covered by a one-year warranty.

The many different printer text all performed excellently though there are some limitations. When printing excel files the printer was at just under its maximum printing speed. The machine was completely able to handle printing black text on full color backgrounds though if the font is below 10 pts the text became blurry.

The printer speed does slow down when printing a document that includes both text and graphics. However this decrease in speed is most likely due to not enough memory. If you find this printing too slow you can always upgrade the memory. All graphics and text were crystal clear and if you felt the need to enhance the clarity even more you can change the dithering options.

The printer works its best when printing completely text documents, as the text is sharp, crisp and clear. A 50-page document can be produced in just over four minutes. The combination of high quality printing and speed make it one of the best in its range.

The Samsung ML 6060 Printer is easily one of the bets of its class when taking into account function and price. You will save even more on Samsung ML 6060 Toner if you operate this laser printer in Samsung ML 6060 Toner saving mode. It does not have a problem printing any type of file and you will be completely satisfied with all of your personal and home printing.
